They will present on ‘Financing your Next’ to the 600 SMMEs expected to attend the first day’s workshop which is aimed at preparing emerging businesses to meet the challenges of establishing and sustaining a viable enterprise in today’s tough commercial climate. They will also participate on the same day in a panel discussion on enterprise and supplier development programmes and how they can assist small businesses get a foot in big business’s door.

In addition, Standard Bank will have a presence at the Expo, bringing with them a number of SMMEs that they assist in their small business programme.

Said Standard Bank, “The issue of local procurement is important to us, and we are attempting to maximise local buying levels across all our business units. We are aligned with the Proudly South African messaging and so we have chosen to support their annual Buy Local Summit & Expo this year and look forward to having a presence there.”

Proudly SA’s Eustace Mashimbye said, “The banking sector is of course one of the most critical cogs in the wheel of small businesses, and Standard Bank is one of the best supporters of SMMEs, walking the sometimes bumpy road to success with them. We are delighted to have them on board. We hope that they will find some new customers from amongst our member exhibitors and that some of them will find a new champion of their efforts in Standard Bank. “
