PROUDLY SOUTH AFRICAN BUY LOCAL SUMMIT & EXPO EXTENDED TO TWO DAYS IN 2017

The biggest event on Proudly South African’s calendar, namely its Buy Local Summit & Expo has grown from one day to run over two days in its 6th year in 2017.

On April 3rd and 4th, 2017 corporate South Africa will meet at the Sandton Convention Centre for a series of presentations, panel discussions and workshops aimed at encouraging all South Africans to buy local – from individual consumer purchasing to business to business and government procurement – everyone has a role to play in buying back South Africa and contributing to the creation of jobs.

The newly added Day One of the Summit will be aimed at assisting both companies who will be part of the Expo, as well as any other SMMEs who wish to attend, to manage all aspects of establishing and sustaining a successful business – from legislative and compliance issues to marketing tips. The workshop is free of charge and open to all. The Minister of Small Business Development, Ms Lindiwe Zulu has been invited to give the main address.

Day Two will follow the successful formula of the past five years, with the anticipated attendance of Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa and Minister of Economic Development Ebrahim Patel, and the presence of the dti. In addition, a number of experts in various fields of commerce and industry will make presentations.

Proudly SA CEO Eustace Mashimbye said, “Having staged this event successfully for the past 5 years we felt ready to expand the Summit and adding a day that benefits SMMEs and young entrepreneurs is a productive and meaningful addition to the programme. It is these small businesses that offer the biggest potential for growth and job creation in the country and the importance of their buying local and in turn their own products and services being taken up by other South African companies cannot be emphasized enough.”

The full programme of events will be confirmed in the coming weeks, in the meantime, save the date and for regular updates and registration visit www.buylocalsummit.co.za or www.proudlysa.co.za
